چکیده

background&aim;:blood loss reducing approaches improve surgery outcomes through making appropriate operation field and reducing transfusion needing . in this study two blood loss reducing techniques compare with together. method & material:in a randomized clinical trial study 60 patients candidate for elective femoral shaft operation were included in two groups.the first group induced hypotension had done and the second group received tranexamic acid.anesthesia technique and surgeon were as the same for both groups.bleeding amount calculated on basis site operation and reservoir observing ,pads counting, traputic interventions such as cristaloids or colloids and blood transfusion had done as needed.results evaluated by man-witney exam. results:dry field and surgeons satisfaction were in good score for 23 cases (76%)and21(70%) and average score in groups respectively.blood loss reducing was no significant differences. conclusion:both of studied techniques could reduce bleeding and improve operation field and surgeon satisfaction, meanwhile there was no significant difference in two approaches. key words:controlled hypotension ,tranexamic acid ,bleeding

The Effect of Tranexamic Acid on the Blood Loss Volumes in the Patients Underwent Orthognathic Surgeries

Background and Aims: Tranexamic acid has been used to decrease blood loss volumes and the subsequent need for blood transfusion in the orthopedic, spinal and cardiac surgeries. Methods: In this prospective controlled randomized clinical trial study, 24 candidates for orthognathic surgeries received tranexamic acid (20 mg/kg) intravenously just before the surgery while matched control patients r...

Does Tranexamic Acid Reduce Bleeding during Femoral Fracture Operation?

Background:Proximal Femoral shaft fractures are commonly associated with marked blood loss which can lead topostoperative acute anemia and some other complications.Tranexamic acid (TA) is an antifibrinolytic medication that reduces intra-and postoperative blood loss and transfusionrequirements during some elective surgeries (1-3).The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of intravenous Tr...

Tranexamic acid plus diluted-epinephrine versus tranexamic acid alone for blood loss in total joint arthroplasty

BACKGROUND We conducted the present meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of tranexamic acid (TXA) plus diluted-epinephrine (DEP) for patients with total joint arthroplasty (TJA, including total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and total hip arthroplasty (THA)). METHODS Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Chinese Wanfang databas...

Comparison of topical fibrin spray and tranexamic acid on blood loss after total knee replacement: a prospective, randomised controlled trial.

We performed a randomised, controlled trial involving 150 patients with a pre-operative level of haemoglobin of 13.0 g/dl or less, to compare the effect of either topical fibrin spray or intravenous tranexamic acid on blood loss after total knee replacement. A total of 50 patients in the topical fibrin spray group had 10 ml of the reconstituted product applied intra-operatively to the operation...
